Access to the cave is managed through a leader system agreed as part of an acess agreement between a consortium of local caving clubs and Bristol City Council. Leaders are provided by three local caving clubs: the Bristol Exploration Club (B.E.C.), the University of Bristol Spelaeological Society (U.B.S.S.) and the Wessex Cave Club (W.C.C.). If you are a member of one of these clubs, then contact please either your club secretary for further information, or contact the Access Secretary on the email below.
Visits to the Entrance Passage are possible for non-cavers, although the ladder pitch down into the Main Chamber should only be descended by those with sufficient caving experience. Visits to the cave are possible for anyone who is who is physically fit and able to negotiate some narrow and awkward sections of passage but the warden has full discretion in regard of who they may take underground. If you are interested, please contact the Access Secretary to discuss whether you are likely to be capable of making the trip. The Access Secretary will then do their best to find a warden to take you. The cave is not available for commercial guided tours.
The Access Secretary is currently Graham Mullan. For all enquires, please contact the Secretary.
